Report from Chris Henderson: It was two ride Tuesday today. Dave Potter led 5 bikes around the Coromandel loop and David Tantrum led 10 bikes over back roads of Ramarama Hunua and Clevedon then onto Kawakawa Bay. Where we went south on that nice twisty coast road for a comfort stop at Kaiaua. Unfortunately the loo's were closed for maintenance so we set off to our old favorite the Native Tree Cafe via Miranda and Back Miranda road. As usual the food and the service at the Cafe were great. After lunch some headed home on the main road and some went back to Miranda. It was an excellent ride. Thanks to David Tantrum RIC and TEC Charlie Tee.
Report from Pedro: Today there was a good turn out of riders and some talkers that turned up at BP, 5 real bikers went on the long ride heading down the motorway and up the Great South Road along the usual route coming out on Lyons Road and down to the relief stop at Waitakaruru.
Dave Potter was the RIC and did a good job of making sure we all kept together but the trip was a little slow, after a quick discussion we headed off at a more realistic pace to Kopu and over Hwy 25A to Tairua and arrived at the Harbour House Café for a welcome coffee in Whitianga, from there we headed to Coromandel and back to Auckland.
The weather was perfect but the traffic was quite heavy in some areas mainly due to road works, we had to stop several times (bummer) but we did get to express ourselves on those windy road sections although not as much as we would have liked due to the traffic, all in all a great day was had, thanks Dave.
